I'm already excited about the spring crappie run but I hope the crappie are biting like last year. We caught these 47 last year on march 30th. We caught all but one of them on a road runner jig. 1/32. The road runner head was white with a small silver blade and the tube was black and chartreuse. The other crappie was caught on minnow. We grabbed our waders and 8' 6" poles rigged with 10 lb test and jigged any bush we could get too without spilling water into our waders. The last pic was from 2005.

Hope this gets you fired up for crappie season.

Oh yea all these crappie were caught in the cove were they had the temporary grading boat ramp.

Sorry the second pic is so small.

Hello to all, and yes I'm still on the forum. I haven't been fishing since December due to some changes at work, inventory @ work, and taking care of my mother-in-law (the last two weeks in hospital in Lubbock),BUT, I am EXTREMELY EAGER and have packed the Bronco for such a time as this!!!Am back home and going this week probably starting Thur. evening and Fri. evening and Sat. morning and etc.,etc.,etc..Am glad to see some new faces on the forum, and in cases you don't know me, I'm the sports dept. manager @ your Big Spring Wallyworld. Big guy, can't miss me, just ask for Brian! Anyways, I am going soon, glad to see all the rain(Thank GOD!!!) and I'll be reporting all the hot spots I can find as soon as I get there.

God willin', I'm fishin.

Went down to JB on monday with the family just to look around.
We showed up around 11:00am. Shortly after we arrived 2 guys
were leaving the water. They had 8 crappie with them. They were
the biggest crappie I had see in 10 years at this lake. The smallest crappie was about 15 inches. After eating luch with the family my boys (5 and 3)and I headed to the water for some jiggin. I only fished for about 20 minutes but caught 1 crappie. It was 15 inches and weighed 2 lbs. Once these storms blow through the fishing should be great. We will be going back friday the 30th. Good luck everybody!

We went Sunday and only fished a couple of hours. It was windy but, we did find a few decent cats in in Bull Creek. My oldest son tried jigging for a little while (no sucess) until we started hauling in the cats.
