I had heard so much about it, my wife and I drove to Strawn one day and tried the CFS. It was as good as a hundred other places in Texas, but nothing special. It was big, but just average.

Mary's Cafe in Strawn is CF at it's best this and it'd be better if they would make it a non smoking place. Also SKEET’S TEXAS GRILL in Abilene must be new. Wasn't there when I was in college. The Abilene Country Club made a great CF Ribeye

The best ever was the chicken fried ribeye served at Rex Cauble's restaurant on 380 in Denton. Can't recall the name of the place. It was just east of I-35, painted red and had wagon wheels in front. Darned good live bands on weekends, too. Long since gone. Long Branch

Mary's Cafe in Strawn is CF at it's best That didn't take long. Not even close anymore. We ate there in October. It was awful. Queso was a tub of Velveeta that was barely melted and was gross. My wife ordered a pork chop and it smelled like mop water. I don't remember what I had, which means it wasn't anything to write home about.
