I am flying into Texas tomorrow and fishing Fork on Thursday and Friday with Mark Pack. Of course the warmer sunny days leave us right as we get there. I was sure hoping to get some 70 degree days to cure my Minnesota winter blues. I mean anything is better than snow and below freezing temps that I am in right now. Anyway with the drop in temps on Thursday, how do you think this will effect the bite? The overnight lows look like they are about the same but temps in the afternoon only hit about 54 on Thursday. Will this drop in afternoon temps throw the bite off?

50+ temps are way better than what you're in up there. Pack is amazing, you'll have a good day regardless of conditions.

Yeah I figured either way Mark would get us on some fish. I just personally wondered if this type of cold front shuts them down on Fork. To use up in the north a drop down to 54 degrees from 70 isn't really that big of a deal but I know Florida strain fish are a little bit more affected by weather changes. Thanks for the comments though. We are pumped to get down there. This is my first trip down to Fork. I know it isn't what it use to be but it beats ice fishing any day.

Those two days are high air pressure days. I am sure that will slow things down. But I bet Pack puts you on a good fish. Guessing just the techniques will change. Just going to go out on a limb here and say you will probably throw a jig, an M-Pack jig.

Can you say bad timing!!! Holy [censored]. It goes from mid 70s all this week down to the 50s the three days we are in Texas and then right back up into the 70s when we leave. Man I feel like someone kicked me in the man jewels haha. 50 is better than 17 like it is right now in Minnesota.

That's Texas weather man, it's been a crazy winter. Few cold snaps and then back to 50-70's, and then constant up and downs

I've scheduled trips with Fork guides three times in the past month and each time we fished right after a cold front shut down the bite. Two or three days later the same guides were catching fish with other clients. That's just the way it goes some times. That being said, I still learned some new locations, fine-tuned some techniques, fished with some great guys, didn't have to drag my boat to the lake, and wasn't in the office, so it's all good!

Maybe we will swap one of the days out and go fish Monticello or Welsch if the fishing is tough on Fork
