I always make sure my insurance covers for the cost to buy new in case of total loss.

Remember Geico spends $1,000,000,000,000 that's one trillion dollars on marketing each year. can't be giving you any money. A billion is a lot of money, but it isn't quite a TRILLION. http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/national/2014/03/20/323788.htm

State Farm did me right on my boat issue ,,,,,,, no questions at all. Just got to make sure you write the correct policy for what you want. They even let me do a $100 deductible. Write it with an agent that "understands" bass fishing.

Call Steven Barber at st Farm in Ft Worth. He's a bass fisherman and a Army Ranger war veteran. He will take care of anyone in the fishing community. I've had zero complaints with him so far and he will even go over your current policy to see if your getting scammed.

Definitely has an ACV policy. That's a depreciated value policy. If it's a 97 model, they're assuming it's lived 90% of it's life. So many people have these policies and never even know until they have a claim. Everyone! Make sure you have RCV policies for everything! They're only a few more dollars per month and you don't get depreciated value for claims. You get Replacement Cost Value. This. Never ever, for any reason, get a non replacement cost policy. Sure you save a little money now, but down the road you will pay dearly and then some. Always go with a stated value policy and RCV. Actual cash value policies will take the boats stated value, then depreciate it for its age, plus some depending on the company. If at all possible never use a third party insurance company either. Insurance is just like anything else. You tend to get what you pay for. I like to write boats through Progressive. They have a ton of options, RCV, Coverage for equipment. Propulsion plus is my favorite option, it replaces a lower unit from mechanical breakdown with, I believe, only a $250 deductible.

I have Progressive thru USAA. I had a claim last fall, was about 12k in damages. Whole process was unbelievably painless and my rates didn't even increase this year.

Geico is not a good insurance company to deal with.
I know for HomeOnwers Allstate and Farmers are horrible
USAA is awesome, State Farm / Liberty Mutual are very good I would watch State Farm too.... I have had them since 84 without a single claim and in 2006 when my boat was broken to on my driveway and all of my rods and reels were stolen, they wouldn't cover it because they said the rods and reels weren't part of the boat... then they turned around and said that if it had been skis and such that would have been covered. What????? Their not part of the boat.... Luckily my home owners insurance gladly took care of it for me.. I have State Farm and I have had one claim on my boat for prop shaft and fiberglass damage, It was about $6K and they were excellent to deal with.

I had insurance with Geico and had the trailer come off my truck which resulted in quit a bit of damage to my boat and trailer. The boat didn't look to be damaged all that bad but turned out it was more than it looked like. The adjuster totaled the boat, to make a long story short Geico payed me the insured value of the boat less the deductible and even reduced the deductible due to number of years with out a claim. I received my check in just a few days and could not have dealt with a more professional group of people. The fiberglass shop that did the estimate of repairs told me that Progressive was the worst to deal with but that would be hearsay. I have Geico and had the same type of experience from them. Hit a stump on Ray Roberts and punched a hole in the hull. Geico covered all the repairs, minus the deductible. I am very pleased with them.

So I use All State for all my insurance. I have had issues before with them. But a TFF fishermen/insurance agent. Help me out! Well my brother has had Geico for about 5 months. He asked all the right questions to the agent. He got the policy he was described. He thought! He may have asked all the right questions but did he read it?

I damaged the awning on my RV and it required replacement. State Farm denied the claim saying I did not have a rider to cover the awning even though it was original factory equipment. I guess I need to get a rider to cover the bumpers on my truck.
YOU'RE FIRED!!! As soon as an accident goes off my record so I can get a decent rate they are going to lose a policy covering three vehicles and a condo. There's no reason to do business with crooks.
