 Boy, am I in trouble...

So I set some glue traps recently to catch some rats running around the Casa. The warden just showed me this.  I'm afraid if I tug on their lil legs, the glue will break them. One of them did a belly flop, and is plastered to the bottom. The other just has both feet planted. Now help me free these poor little critters, so she'll let me back in the house. It's cold out with a Norf wind, time is ticking before I Gammo them both. What will help dissolve the glue to free them??

try cold soapy water.

You might try vasoline or any petroleum jelly.

Is there something that counteracts the "stickiness," like salt or baking soda or whatever?

If I use cooking oil, then I'd have to bathe them to get the oil out of their feathers, so they could fly again.  I'm working today.... This may not turn out so well for them.
