True story. Took my older son to meet in Dad in Dallas. He is a magician and worked as a clown at birthday parties after he retired from the Navy and the Post office. My son goes up to him and put his arms around his waist looked up at him as only a small child can and said with love in his heart, "you have a big belly." I was looking for a way to disappear under the sidewalk.

I met this gal years ago. She wasn't very attractive but she came from money. Her dad had a large amount of land. He loved to hunt too. I tried to get to know him many times, but he never really gave me the time of day. I told him how I would take care of his beloved daughter who even he did t think would ever get married because of her foul personality. So one night, after supper, I hatched a plan to finally connect with him so I could gain his approval to marry Berta. He was sipping scotch by the fireplace talking about how great he was and how his truck was the best in the land. After the third hour of talking truck nuts, and yeti coolers, I went to the restroom and prepared for the plan. When I came back in the room, he had his back to me, sitting in an old high backed chair. I didn't didnt say a word, I just sat on the couch on the other side of the room and waited for him to notice me...........he didn't have to say a word when he saw me, but immediately, I knew. I just knew, I could called him Dad from that day forward.

Lived with my MIL about 3 months at the 925 in Grapevine before she was my MIL. The cringeworthy part would be when she'd bring back some goober guy she'd met and tell him I was going to marry her daughter. Their face would read, "well what the hell are you doing here then?" Dude, does your wife know you lived with her mother?????

Knowing her dad's history. I don't have much respect for him. I'm polite to him, but in the back of my mind I know he's a DB. Her mom and I get along great. I actually get along well with her whole family.

When my girlfriend (now wife's) dad caught us making out upstairs. I had already met him by then but it was a long car ride home with just me and him. Now i get the last laugh

Yeah her daughter and I were engaged, I was working down there and to save some cash, I just stayed with her. Thankfully we'd normally only cross paths around dinner time.
