Given all that information about the salvinia. Is the lake still fishable and worth driving all that way?

I went today. The south wind broke a lot of it up but its all wind driven. There is still a ton of it in the river system and covering a lot of Texas side. U can't run C boat lane. Old Folks, Turtle shell, ami springs, britts gap, big green, Tuckers all still have it in them. We really need some rain to get the current flowing. I did catch 3 today flipping. No size. Just mainly got out to run the boat

Aggie, that's a tough call. As it stands right now, I would say about 30-40% of the Lake is fishable on the Texas side. Big Cypress Bayou is still fishable, and fish are being caught. I hate to dissuade you from coming, because Caddo is one of the hidden gems in the South, but right now she's sick. If it were me and I were planning a trip for that time of year, I'd go to Toledo Bend. Especially since they are checking in around 150 10+ pounders per year over the past two years.

I know several that had over 50 fish today on Toledo. Like mentioned above. The salvania is bad Ian's the weather forecast isn't looking to promising for it to be killed. I saw lots of new growth today in areas also
