Don't know about the good ole days, but this morning me and my neighbor caught 50 in less than an hour....Best day I've had in several years.
You might look into trying a new spot!

sandbass have good years, bad years & everything in between, I remember catching them one after another non stop for hours, when I did stop my hands were raw from grabbing them things, I usually catch on north end of Lake o Pines, but always wanted to try the Sabine around carthage, I heard 2 lbrs are pretty normal there.

Schools of sandies on Lewisville will wear you out. 100 fish in 2 hrs after work is not uncommon in the Summer.
Try another lake, I read on here somewhere that many East Texas lakes have banned them because they scare away all of the 10 lb bass.

Woke up this morning
Got yourself a gun....

The shad are on top,the sand bass underneath, the 10lb bass underneath them.
The sand bass take your lure before the largemouth can get it.
