I have had one from Radio Shack for several years. I use a Lowrance fused power cord. I highly recommend it. It is a great way to learn your unit and set it up without wasting time on the lake.

I just found a 12V AC/DC adapter laying around and spliced a Lowrance power cord I had laying around to it. Nothing complicated about it. Need 2A+

I bought a power supply like ones used for computers rated for 12vdc 5 amps and have two Lowrance power cables wire (fused) to it and when needed I can have both my Elite-Ti and Hook units on at the same time setting in the recliner and enjoying a cold one in my living room.

Small alarm system back up battery, looks just like small motorcycle battery, hooked to old cables and a battery tender. The whole thing tucks up behind my computer nicely, and you can pull out cables and run 2 graphs any amount of time with no cut outs. When i tried the small transformers they overheated after couple hours, guess it depends on how big your screens are too, solix draws some juice.
