I watch chad ferguson's unboxing and youtube. At the end of the video he has some screen shots, and I can say I wasnt impressed at all. Kinda sad because I was hoping it would be without question worth the $, now im not sure. The Dedicated DI is about the only thing i see making a huge difference
I'm gonna miss her....

I've been impressed with the screen shots that I have seen for it. I just got the g1 helix 12 so I won't be upgrading but if I was buying one now, it'd be worth the extra money to me to go mega.

Got a call from "Transducer Shield and Saver" today they have the trolling motor mount for the new Mega transducer, $169' addition $10 for misc cable attachment mounting accessories and $10 shipping! Yikes! I almost said pass but I recalled my last foray into DIY transducer mounting w/out the proper mount or skills. Needless to say the outcome was not satisfactory as my investment lasted all of one trip before the cable got tangled in the prop. Total was slightly over $191, Was able to get out yesterday but the fishing was terrific so didn't spend much time on the graphs, sorry, I am in the process of installing Autochart Pro on my PC though and will update later this week. This is my fishing partner Mike and his 3.6lb fatty. Look at that gut! Fish had just choked down Mikes bait, behind that was a good sized shad in his mouth and behind that was crawdad the n his throat! What a PIG!

When did they start making the shields out of gold? That's ridiculous

Thanks for the update on the transducer mount. I was on the fence about upgrading but that helped me decide. I'll keep what I have.

HBird is offering a free remote control if you purchase a new Helix 9 or 10 G2N between Jan 1 and April 30. I purchased mine Dec 16th, HBird said "Tough luck!" Bobby; they ain't making them out of gold silly, I'm pretty sure its platinum. Seriously, when I questioned why it was almost double the cost they said it was because a bigger mount was needed. Afterall they get $224.95 for the LSS2 Shield trolling motor mount.
