If the plug pins match for 2D and SI it may do OK. There is no way to use the dedicated DI crystal and no way to get MEGA Imaging either.

The transducer is 1" longer than the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T so the difference in image quality would be less than the difference between the HDSI and Compact SI which is 2".
I doubt it would be enough difference to warrant the cost.

Help appreciated

Nice surprise yesterday on the water. Found out my newly installed H10's Mega SI G2N's would read depth at speeds up to 60 mph. clap

Mike sorry for poor quality pictures, I hope this helps. Motor is not in full down trim, probably at 10 up tilt but the floor wont allow me to go any further. The notch in the skeg? Oh thats a speed mod. Honest roflmao

Received my new mega 10 last night - just need to wait on transducer shield to finish the install - but now which chip - lakemaster or navionics? Any recommendations is appreciated.

Did you already get the mount from Transducer Shield? I was told by a lady there that they would not be available until the middle of January.

No not yet they told me the same thing but I have a hole shot plate on a hydrodynamics jack plate and think that maybe I can just mount the transducer directly to that plate - nice and warm this weekend to get out there and get everything at least set up so if the hole shot plate mount won't work I'll have everything done except the transducer mount.

If the transducer ends up being above the pad, you would probably be good with that. The concern is it being knocked off by a stump. The shield would certainly be good insurance when it becomes available.
Be sure to check the clearance between the front of the lower unit housing and the transducer shield for clearance when the motor is lowered all the way. I missed that on the TD installation for my 1199 and the motor ended up chewing the front of the shield. Luckily, I caught it and filed it down before the tangs broke off and left the TD dangling. My jack plate setback is only 6", so if yours is more than that, it shouldn't be an issue.

You have to make that decision based on the waters you fish.

You can download the lake list for Lakemaster from their site.
Waters that are listed as Lakemaster High Definition Survey are very good. Not so much the other two types.
You can also purchase individual bodies of water also with their Chart Select program. Those are downloaded to a regular memory card that has been Encrypted by your unit.
Only one map per memory card.

You can view the current Navionics maps on their website's Web App.

The screen is fantastic of course I've never had a big screen graph before but the clarity is outstanding ....

I'm real happy about the transducer's ability to read depth at speed, hope it wasn't a fluke.

I was only out for a couple hours the first time but I plan to fish again on Tuesday. I hope to have more to report, there is a lot to learn,
