I was cooking brisket a few days ago and went looking for the older cooler I use to put them in when removed from the smoker. I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. Other than my big coolers and a few of those blue cube coolers, I guess all my smaller rectangular coolers have disappeared.

Went to walmart.com and found a 52 quart Igloo for $21.84. Ordered 2 and they arrived today. It's a great cooler and perfect size for 1-3 briskets or as something you throw in the vehicle.

At that price, you can't beat it and if you order $50 worth of merchandise from Walmart the shipping is free ... even on most larger items.

White is the best color for coolers because it reflects sunlight instead of soaking it up. Wraping it in foil works too.

I took a turkey out of the smoker at the lake on thanksgiving morning, wrapped it in aluminum foil, put in in my Yeti, and made the 2.5 hour trip to my son's house and it was still warm, perfect for eating!,

I had same issue last time I cooked Brisket. Happened to remember a Styrofoam Omaha Steak cooler on top shelf in storage shed.

I left a pork butt wrapped up on my counter at home (wrapped up) for 2 hours and it was warm too. smile

You could have spent another two hundred and fifty plus tax to get you a couple RTIC's at Bucee's. They are on sale.

Wrap it in paper and cover with clear food wrap. Not foil.

I know stuff...

Because I would have to take my hat off to complete wrapping the brisket.
