That is all I had with my 2012 Skeeter with Marathons. Blow out after blow out. Fortunately I bought a replacement plan with Discount Tire. It paid for itself five times. My 2015 Skeeter has Carlisle on it. Much better trailer tire. Unfortunately I noticed that Skeeter's new boats had Marathons back on them.

I have a 2015 Skeeter. It has Carlisle tires. No problems here and I check them often.

Agree with Hog Jaw tire pressure is the problem. I ran Marathons and never had a problem a few years back. Ran 60 lbs cold and drove around 70 mph many, many times to Amistad. Check out what Good Year says about speed and under inflated tires. I can't believe that a major brand can't come up with some good trailer tires that are made in the USA Yep - under-inflated tires is a big cause of blowouts with trailer tires especially when the tire is run faster than it's speed rating which is 65mph for most "ST" type trailer tires. When a tire is under-inflated heat buildup from excessive tire flexing occurs. I've seen monster size heavy equipment tires catch fire from the heat generated by excessive tire flex from being under-inflated.

I ask the dealer to fix it and he says it came from the factory like that and it is not his problem. Skeeter was contacted and they want fix it either. They have had almost a year to get something done.

I would name the dealer Donald, from what I hear Fun and Sun would have fixed the problem. They go out of their way to keep customers coming back. When you pay $70,000 for a bass boat changing out 2 tires ain't that big a deal.

Fun and Sun was not the dealer. Although I had to take the boat to them to get many things fixed that Nautical Mile did not fix or blotched when I took possession of the boat. Both dealers assured me that the trailer company and Skeeter had been contacted to replace the tires. Nothing has been done.
Fun and Sun did a great job taking care of the problems that was under warranty; but all the rigging problems I had to pay them to straighten those out. I had already made 3 trips to Nautical Mile and the boat was there almost 30 days; so I was willing to pay to get it fixed right.

Once upon a time, I was on the road, had a blowout, and had to get a replacement tire. All they had available were car tires. The ride was better for the boat, but I noticed, probably from a diameter change, that my lower unit would drag the pavement when loading the boat and pulling up the ramp. Never use to before.
Get the right size.

Never mind, I can remember that.

Stepdad has had 3 blowouts this year on marathons. I've had none. Once I was behind him and the tire totally blew up and shredded itself instantly. It came apart in the tread area without hitting anything at 70mph on I-20. After the 3rd one he replaced all of them with another brand. I have no confidence in mine now, and find myself constantly watching my mirrors while waiting for one to blow

It's all about pressure with trailer tires. Some brands are better, I agree, but if you will keep them close to the max pressure at all times, you will find that you get more miles and fewer blowouts. Under inflated tires create heat and ultimately, that is what breaks a tire down. Also, if your boat stays stationary for more than 6 weeks to 2 months at a time, move it around, even if its just 6-12 inches. Do not expect a tire to perform at its max if it is going to sit on one spot for 3-6 months at a time.
Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.
