Didn't TPWD kill all the bass in Fork in the early 2000s too?

hmmmmm I caught a big headed skinny bass with a red sore on its side yesterday up in double branch in birch. 8-9 lb head, 21 inches and had a 4-5 lb body. Sore was about 3inches in diameter between gill and tail.
PM me to let me know how it was!

My father is the one who found these and took the pictures on a old flip phone, I'm actually surprised he knew how to take a picture to be honest. He was looking for lures when he found them on the bank. Two big piles and all different species of fish, he estimated around 150 to 200 fish total. He immediately called the game warden from the location but was told their was not one available to come there at the time. They eventually called him back and told him that a biologist was doing a chemical survey and that's what killed the fish. Made him sick to his stomach when he saw them, he was hoping it wasn't the start of another fish kill. The fish probably should have been discarded a different way though, but that just my opinion.
On a side note he didn't post those pics anywhere because he doesn't know how. When he got back to his Park Model he immediately showed his friends because at the time he didn't know what happened. Just want to clarify that because I know how negative the forum can be.

Is the grass dying? Have they been spraying the giant silvania(sp?)? Last time all the grass was killed they called it LMBV which I think is a huge cover up for herbicides killing fish!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

even though the comments on face book was that there are "some toads" in there when TPWD does their electro shocking they rarely get "toads". In a report to the LFSA last month Kevin Storey was reporting on the effectiveness the the survey being done on the live release boat and said in the 12 previous years that they had only shocked up 7 overs.
So the 50 overs we provided the DNA info on made quite a comparison to what they got with the shocking boats.
It is unfortunate that they dumped the fish on the bank where folks get to see them. But then they have been telling us for years to take home the dinks and to eat them. Nobody does however. And when we see someone doing ti we give them a hard time to boot.

What is the chemical testing? That area is where all the grass/hydrilla has been...........just sayin. Many of us feel the zealousness to rid the state of hydrilla is what killed the fish in the early 2000s as that was a major initiative during that period, the kill coincided with the hydrilla disappearing in less than a month in April, and the same thing happened on the other LMBV affected waters like Sam Rayburn and Roberts. They keep spraying the hyacinth and it has also killed the hydrilla.......not sure I want to eat fish from a lake herbicides are used on........ I question why TPWD would perform chemical tests on public waters ????!!!!

Surely they wouldn't leave poisonous fish just laying around. Has anyone tried talking to them about it? They might be willing to answer the question.
