Went downhill since the original owner died but still good.
What are you looking for Franky?
The current owners dad died in the late 80's or early 90's and he had taken it over from his mom long before he passed, so unless you're 70 years old you've never had CT made from the original owner. From Texas Monthly article..... Who did you learn your craft from? This is a family deal. Im the third generation in this restaurant. I learned from my dad, and my dad learned from the man before him. My family acquired it. And my grandmother owned the restaurant, and my dad took over cooking from the original cook, and I cooked after my dad. http://www.texasmonthly.com/eat-my-words/tmbbqfest-23-pitmasters-in-23-days-country-tavern/ Article from 2011. It ain't the same people.

I would also say that based of how popular that place is and how long it's been there you would see an article or announcement of any recent sale of the place, news paper, local chamber of commerce etc.

It ain't the same people. Well 2011 is after the late 80's or 90's when the owner's dad passed away, so it doesn't matter if the article was from 2011 or yesterday. The current owner took it over from his dad who passed away in the last 80's or early 90's. His dad took over the cooking from the guy who cooked for his mom (The current owner's Grandmother). Toby Pilgrim still owns CT.

Frank, go to CT. Good ribs. They may be selling soon, so you want to get there quick before they go downhill. Bo Pilgrim owns that place, and there's nothing in his ribs but ribs.
