@Chris, winch post is all the way forward. My plan is extend the winch post somehow. I have a buddy who is a welder /fabricator. We are going to look at it, or see if the axles can go back a little.
@huckleberry, those are factory Chevrolet 22" rims installed at the factory, I bought it that way. The truck is 100% stock from Chevrolet. The tires are Bridgestone all terrain 275/45-22 . I doubt the truck or ghetto rims effect my trailer issue. But thanks for participating.

Just got off phone with Ranger, the Bobs Hydraulic Jack plate was added to the boat after purchase by original owner. It has moved the engine back an additional 9". I believe this is the problem, talking to a representative from the Ranger trailer division tomorrow and see if he has any suggestions or input, other wise I will modify the trailer winch to get it a bit more forward.

Maybe tires need balanced or have a bad shock.

I examined the tires, all appear to be in really good shape visually, Goodyear Marathon Radials, but tires will be replaced soon irregardless if they are the problem or not, they show a manufacturer date of 2008. The boat only has 66 hours so I imagine the trailer has low miles too. Don't know if Boat was stored on trailer or lift so could be flat spots on tires if stored on trailer, but really believe it's tail heavy. Going to put 200 lbs weight on front tomorrow and drive to lake, see what that does.

In addition to tires, when it's on smooth road it trailers good.

Yeah, because I go 4 wheeling all the time...
On a positive note, went fishing today, caught a few decent fish, but I also put 200 lbs of weights right on the front of the boat today while trailering it to the lake. It fixed the problem 100%, could of used another 50 lbs in my opinion, so I m definitely light on the tongue. Now just have to figure out the best way to move the boat/weight forward...

Yeah I would say just see if there's any way to move the winch post forward. I think that would be tons easier than trying to move axles, even a little bit. I've done axle work on an old boat trailer I had... not fun at all. Worst case scenario I guess you could always just keep that weight to put in the front. But that's no fun, no one wants to do that every time they trailer. I know someone mentioned that a lower drop hitch doesn't really help with tongue weight, but you could at least try. I would think that that might at least put a little more weight forward. An old boat I towed certainly bounced more when I had it too high. I tow my boat now almost slightly nosed down. It tows like a dream, and I have a jack plate as well, double axle trailer, 3 batts in the back, etc. I would at the very least make sure it is towing level, and if anything nosed down. Hope you get it figured out, I always am on edge when pulling a trailer that is towing funny.

The problem is the 9 inch set back on your motor.

Have you considered shortening your transom saver/motor totor bar... it appears to be much longer than it needs to be putting more weight further off the back end of the boat.

If that front tube on your trailer is open, you may could put something heavy inside of it?

I have the same boat and trailer (2007) with a 10-inch jack plate, dual power poles, and 4 batteries. I haven't noticed the trailer bouncing around, but the back of my truck already bounces around (even without a trailer) since the bed is usually empty. I have to wonder if adding weight to the bed of the pickup will improve things. I tow it with a GMC 2500 but it has a 10-inch lift and 38" tires and I use an 11 inch drop hitch. The nose of the trailer is still slightly high when I measure it compared to the rear of the trailer. I tried a 12 inch drop hitch but it would grind on the pavement when pulling out of my driveway.

I was gonna ask if the jack plate was factory-installed.

My dad had a similar problem when he first bought his boat a while back. We didn't realize how bad it was until I stood on the back deck when it wasn't hooked up to the truck and the whole boat/trailer tipped up. Went straight back to the dealer and they moved the whole winch arm forward about 10 inches. problem solved

I had the same issue with my 21' Nautical Star on a Roadmaster tandem trailer. About 4450#. It also has a jack plate added after original purchase, but that didn't cause all of the unbalance. I used a level and a bath scale to weigh the tongue and found I had a little over 100# on the hitch. Should've had at least 10%, if I remember correctly. The solution I went with was to cut off the fixed/welded winch post and replace it with a bolt on unit that is further forward. Roadmaster did the swap. Tows great now, but I have about 11" of extra bunk at the rear.

Add a spare tire rack under the boat at the front like many trailers companies already do. That will add some weight right where its needed.
