I like Mary's, usually eat the chicken livers and have a few schooners. I don't consider the CFS the best, it is fairly decent though.

Definitely one of the biggest CFS in the state, lol. I should have got the small last time I went. After eating that big CFS, I was sleepy all the way home.

I must have hit them on an off day. I had never been and went a month or so ago and was disappointed after all the hype. I thought the CFS was mediocre at best and the sides were worse. A big CFS does not mean a good CFS. I may give them another try, but I can get a better CFS here in Nac.

I hunted in Strawn for about 10yrs and always loved Mary's CFS. Been a few years though. And surprisingly for being out in the middle of nowhere they used to have excellent oysters on the half shell.

Yeah, we must have hit them on an off day, too....seriously a 'meh' at best...The food wasn't good, and the service wasn't any better. I won't try them again.

You can swap that salad for more fries. One of the best things about my hunting lease. It's only about 20 minutes to Mary's and even less to New York Hill.

Gotta say that cfs looks like it was cooked in very old grease.

I believe they have a notion to leave the grease in too long at times. I've had some old grease tasting in there before, but for the most part, there's also been times that I thought it was the best CFS I've ever had. I've lived in TX for 16 years, and I've been there prob 15 times. So that would mean that I like it a lot.

Yes it's pan fried. (actually cooked on a flat-top griddle with canola oil)
I 've eaten at Mary's many times over the years but my last visit definitely wasn't up to snuff. CFS was just ok, and the mashed potatoes were way over-peppered. Think I'll stick with Horseshoe Hill (Grady Spears newest place) in the Ft. Worth Stockyards - they have the best CFS I've ever had

It seemed very over priced as well.
