PM sent.

Usually cause no one wants to host it,
but sometimes there are noise ordinances.

Also, visit this site, as you have to have a copy of these regulations to fish these lakes: Buchanan, Inks, LBJ, Marble Falls, and Travis

What happens with the fish after a bowfishing tournament?

Each team is responsible for disposing of their fish.
Some of the larger tournaments will have disposal set up,
usually rendering plants or chicken/pig farms and such.

If you know of anyone interested in these fish, please let me know.

P.S. We DO NOT condone disposing of fish in the lake, at the ramp or anywhere in public view, at tournaments or otherwise.
Please dispose of responsibly!

I've tried to hold but just can't:

Since when is disposing of fish or game responsible?

As a matter of fact, it's against the law according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Code.

" 66.011. LEAVING FISH TO DIE. A person commits an
offense if the person leaves edible fish or bait fish taken from the public waters of this state to die without the intent to retain the fish for consumption or bait.

Added by Acts 1985, 69th Leg., ch. 267, art. 4, 2, eff. Sept. 1,
1985.

Rough fish fall under the category of both edible and bait fish.

Take what you and others can eat else leave them alone.

Scott I will not argue about this, on this site.
However, feel free to PM and we can go back and forth.

These tournament are fully legal and have been around
since I was a kid and ever further back than that. This
is a growing sport that many hard working men and women are
participating in and I didn't see any reason not to post
these dates on this forum. Bowfishing talk has already
been banned on the Rough Fish page, therefore this was
the only page I thought I could post with out being harrassed.
However, I guess I was wrong.

If you want to debate the fact that these tournaments are held that is fine but please do it on another post. They are simply trying to get a schedule posted and this is not the post to complain about the sport. Please start a new topic if you need to. Thanks

I am with Mark, we have our own little corner of the forum. I would really appreciate if my fellow carp huggers would just leave post be that are related to bowfishing out side of the rough fish section.

Thanks Cory,
Tyler was mentioned, but rejected because of noise concerns.
I think some guys were run off of the lake in airboats and fanboats. I'll have to check, but it may be possilbe to have a trolling motor only tournament.

Texas Two, bowfishing is enjoyable and I have done it at night on the Rio Grande in efforts of collecting big gar. I have fond memories of doing that in the heat of summer.

Good luck with your tournies.
