Went last wed. only had about 10 bass with the biggest around 8# we were following road beds and creek channels in 20' , he caught his big fish on a 1/2 ounce swim bait with a 5" grub on the back around noon.I am going to start calling him old lucky that is his 2nd big fish in 2 weeks the other was caught on and under water bridge with 20' of water. I have found the bait and fish more consistent in 18'-25' but can't wait till it cools down a little in water temp.

Just buy the annual pass. 12 troops and it is paid for with no upcharges for holidays.

If you have a pass you still have to pay on holidays to get in.

With the cloud cover we stayed with the topwaters until 9am, after that I caught the most on a jig and my son did well with a wacky worm. The bite would come in groups, usually two to three in a area. These came in areas with timber and on a few "do nothing" banks.
Joe Pool became my twelve years old favorite lake.

Mind telling me which arm your were fishing when you mentioned "shady side".....we were there Sat and it was frustrating to say the least. I love the lake but this trip was a beat down. I've never fished the east side of the west arm???.....but tried this time and the timber was pretty thick.

I love the lake, my wife hates it because the both times I've taken her, very little to no action which I know Pool is better than that and it's her guide!

It was an awesome day as far as conditions goes that's for sure.

Not to launch a boat. I've been doing it for two years at Loyd park. They have the holiday pricing sign up, look at my pass and wave me through. I don't use it at Lynn creek and maybe they handle it differently

There was a 12lber caught a few weeks ago on an offshore hump. I did found some fish staging off the side of a point on the south arm about half way down the lake. Very hard to make them bite , but caught a few on a Carolina rig rad shad.

Fished it all day Saturday and today. Fished both sides, shallow to 25'. I tried coves, creeks, points and standing timber. Lots of sandbass but LM have been tough on me the last couple of trips. Just 2 a day. They both came in the timber. Only one could have been nice. Pretty long but really skinny. I'm not in a hurry to go back until the bite picks up.

Steez, pay the $70 for access to all state parks for the year. Then you can launch for free rest of the year at Cedar Hill. I'll probably go 15-20 times in a year for $70 so it's a great deal.
