and it's easy to run out of buck creek, you can see the cuts boat lane it makes, and run down the old rail road tracks until you see a cut that opens to the main lake, then you can see the cut in the or open spaces in between the trees on your way out to main lake, their safe with the lake filled up, you take that all way to Indian or until you get to wolf island. just follow the cuts open spaces, if you turn right to go to isle du bois which is you turn right after you get off the old rail tracks, there's a couple cuts but one the the reflective tape on it it the right one, the other cuts have stumps in the middle.

I would not suggested "running" anywhere in Buck with a new boat and new to the lake. There are no boat lanes on Roberts. Just some channels, road beds or old railroads that provides some "clear" areas. However, there is a hump just under the surface on the end of the railroad lane out of Buck as you head to the main lake. It's not as much of a concern now but it is there. Same with a lot of "open" areas there are plenty of of trees or stumps just under the surface or on the edge.

The good news is you can just drop your trolling motor at the ramp and start fishing. You don't have to do much running around to find areas that hold fish.

And with strong NE winds on Saturday, Buck is a good spot to avoid some of it.

As mentioned by others, first and foremost, you should be very cognizant of the weather conditions in and around Ray Roberts tomorrow. If you do not have a weather radio for use in the boat, I would strongly suggest you purchase or borrow one to take with you tomorrow. Strong storms with high winds are predicted and this scenario is dangerous on any body of water, but Roberts can be extremely dangerous in many areas of the lake when gusty high winds are prevalent.
I wouldn't get too far from the Buck Creek Ramp until you are certain that any dangerous weather conditions have passed through the area.
As far as fishing, I agree with an earlier reply that you can just start at the ramp and fish your way out toward the main lake. There is plenty of rip rap and points and would be an easy starting point.
By the way, if you have access, you can go to Navionics and look at the lake in 1 ft contour intervals and get an idea of how much good water there is to fish in that area of the lake.
Good luck and stay safe.

lots of dinks on the rip rap the last two weeks, I'm waiting for some movement there.

I'm hoping for some good bites at the plow disks, tomorrow.

Today may be a lot of fun to be on roberts... Anytime it's been a rain like this, I've had great days on yellow magics or frogs or buzz baits
Be out there in some frogg toggs with shorts and tshirt on, I'd be having a blast.... I've got some great areas up in pilot point slough that I use for this weather. If someone had an open backseat and it wasn't my sons birthday weekend, I could show someone around thumb

Hey Mike. Any weekend day that I am free, you are welcome to join me on Ray Bob. I would love to find some new areas on the lake and meet a fellow angler.

Launch from Buck Creek this morning. First time in this part of Ray Bob. First time out since shoulder surgery. Caught 4 dinks on a worm and jig and trailer during my 3 hour trip. Still a bit stiff and sore but starting to get better. I idled pretty much everywhere I went today.

Wife and I fished the fluke, split shot and caught a bunch today. Only 3 keepers, 2 just over 14 inchesand one 3 pounds. We caught 20 or so though. Wife had fun for the most part.

I expect it will get much better in Buck in the next several weeks.

I saw you and your wife near 377 bridge this afternoon. You'll were fishing along the riprap. I was fishing alone along the northern section between RR and 377 bridge.

You nailed it. I got out on the water around 2:30 this afternoon and came across schooling bass chasing shad on top. I tied on a yellow magic and caught bass after bass. Only one sandbass but even that was a good sized one. Were the bass trophies? No, but they sure were fun to catch.
