C rig bite can be pretty hard to detect sometimes. They can rip the rod out of your hand sometimes too. But usually for me, the bite is either a sharp tap or a subtle soggy feeling..almost like your pulling over a branch in a brushpile, only different, best advice I can give you is pay attention to what that weight is telling you about the bottom.
