They get pretty close to Lavonia North boat ramp. If you go out to the point on the railroad track you should be able to catch a bunch. West side. That's where they were two weeks ago when we got into them. My boat was no more than 75 yards from the bank. We were just north of Lavonia north boat ramp. We had 4 kids on the boat having a blast catching every cast until a ski boat came in between us and the bank and spooked them away.

Gotta try a top water this weekend! I'm stuck on the jig and slab combo... cast and bounce back is killer! 95% of the time jig gets the bigs! Nice pics and thanks for sharing info!

This morning on Lavon. Taponfly wasn't there for me to chase around so had to find the sandies myself. Staying away from the main school hitting topwater is the key to the bigger fish. Caught over 100 fish today and only kept about 18 fish all over 16 inches.

Awesome job, we struggled somewhat, only put 7 in the cooler, but caught about 25, couldn't get the massive schools below us to bite either. There was HUGE school of em about 300 yards SW of the railroad bridge, but they didn't want to bite anything. Plus there are gar EVERYWHERE around the railroad bridge right now. Gonna need to try some new spots soon. I talked to a guy who said they boated 51 keepers though. Nice job!

It was actually a bit slow. 7 inch pencil poppers caught most of the bigger fish in the morning. Fished for about an hour on top then got bored and went to a couple points. Found a decent school at 14 foot on the ledge. Super steady, 1-3 fish came over the rail every minute or so. It was not a 400+ fish day, but it was still action-packed. Client caught the same bass I caught three or four days ago. Shows you CPR does work. Catch, picture, release. We released a bunch of Sandy's today. We will catch them again next year. White ghost minnow slabs 1 oz with a White and chart Thump Buddy jig as teaser. We probably caught 70% of the fish on the Thump Buddy. The bait that they were eating were only an inch long, so it obviously makes sense. When I left the fish on the surface to go find bigger fish, I found schools boiling and smashing shad on the surface on both corners of the dam, one out in front of the island, One in front of Baptist encampment, and one out in front of East Fork. So it seems the school broke apart today and went in all different directions. I think they stayed up on the surface in the middle of the lake till about 10:30 AM. There is a cold front tomorrow with the north wind and rain. I actually have no idea with the fish are going to do. But I guess we'll find out. I think that's why the big girls were not playing too much today. The little ones were everywhere. Make sure you pick a ramp that is protected from a strong north wind in case it gets up there. You don't want Northwind bashing into the ramp that your launching from. That is how boats get sunk. When you're putting the boat on the trailer waves will come over the back of the boat into the boat sinking you. Be Careful out there. The lake is full of fish. Everyone's arms are sore at the end of the trips. Just amazing days on Lady Lavon. Texting is the easiest way to stay in contact with me.

Thanks for the tips this morning and good seeing ya, Carey. There were top water at the PP intake also. Hundreds of 11 incher sandies chased shad up the rapid, looked like salmon going up the river every couple minutes. It was wild scene. We were on the water 7 to 11. Only fished 2 schools. Left them to find bigger fish but found smaller fish lol. Caught only couple mags today but also caught, lmb, kitty, yelllows, crappies, and Austin caught a rock bass today. First time seeing a rock bass so that really rocks!! Oh thanks for including my Tundra in your pic The best truck in the universe !!

Here is Austin's rock bass. It's only 10 inches. It took a while and many texts to buddies to identify the fish

Anytime Twok 2013 white bass LTSA champ, VIP. I believe the rock fish is a Lavon record. You can mail that pic to TPWD to receive body of water record certificate and gold pin.

That rock bass would make some killer flathead bait.

Lov, you made me google to find out about warmouth cuz I've never heard of it. Found out that many anglers out there (mostly upper north regions) are confused between rock bass and warmouth also cuz from the images, they sure do look familiar. But the warmouth do have a tint of yellow, so you may be right.
Austin, I would submit the same pic twice and claim two lake lavon records. Lol.
