Power Pro Super 8 Slick yellow ,....all I use... +1 This is an outstanding braid! It holds its color also, which is a huge plus for me. Smoothest I have used so far!

So I was wondering also how long a leader and the best line to line knot to tie. I normally use about a rod length of fluoro attached with the Alberto knot. Here's a YouTube link on how to tie, there are others there as well but this one is from the man that named it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J56O3CZVu7MWith a little practice it's not a hard knot to tie. Thanks I'll give that a shot. Looks pretty straight forward.

I'm just curious, if the purpose of using braid is for the strength but your using a mono lead why don't you just use mono? Just asking I strictly use Mr. Crappie 6# line have done so for years. I have fished all across TX and other states with various people using all sorts of line in all sorts of conditions Timber, rocks, BPs etc. not once did I lose anymore fish or got hung up and lose a jigs to the point I was retying anymore than the next guy.

I use the braid because it's more sensitive and it's more visable to me. It's also easy to mark with a magic marker. I use a 18" clear leader in case the fish are shy and it's easier to retie lures on.

I use the Mr Crappie Hi-Viz line and it works for me. Most of the time I also use a clear leader about 18" long - just in case the crappie care about it! Never know if it makes a difference cause I catch a lot of them when the Hi-Viz is tied directly to the jig! Trying new things is part of the journey, and fun.

Holy carp, its $25 a spool
I've got reels with 3+ year old line on them that I use with no issue. You can use mono backing with the top 50+- yards being braid and fish a long time. You can also reverse braid on the spool and get another few years out of it, that's what I did this year on my reels with older line on them. that's ingenious! Hadn't heard of that. I'm a cheap basta-rd too so... that will work! lol Appreciate the tip!

I have searched all over the web for the Sufix 660-020Y. I can only find it on 150 yd spools. The 660-120Y available in 300 yds. And the Power Pro Super 8 Slick, available in 300 yds. I ordered all 3 so I could see the difference. The Sufix 660-020Y is thinnest and smoothest of the 3. Power Pro Super 8 Slick was next just a tad thicker than Sufix but still smooth and the roughest and thickest was the Sufix 660-120Y. So there is quiet a difference among the 3. I sure hope Ernest actually gets the 600 yard spool of 660-020Y. He is right I think it is a good line too, just wished I could of found a larger spool.

Great line, high vis, and I will gauranty you want break it off on a fish. No stretch at all. When you set the hook on a good fish it will sing you a song. Love it

I am using this this braid on one of my rods now, and plan to rig more soon. I use the 20-6 lb. test high-vis to see it but am trying for the leader with a 4 lb. test [size] I think it is that may be harder for the fish to see as it is a grey color. Using the knot albertto knie that Mike Andrews posted and so for this is working great. The only thing I don't like about it its still tying the jig on to braid. Thank Ernest and Mike for the info.

I switched to the power pro slick 8 because of the thread. I was using Mr crappie hi vis 4lb and never really had a problem with it. I would break if I horsed around to much with a fish. I think the braid let's me sling them in and set the hook better. I got the 10lb braid.

i use power pro slick 30 lb braid with a 15"leader (12 lb big game mono) and small swivel. no problems at all! iv had the jig hook straitened but never broke off on a fish! really makes a diff when they are just picking the bait up and not thumping hard.i fish a lot around boat slips that have metal pipes low to the water, mono was breaking off at times when the fish ran under it. havent broke off the braid not 1 time and after 1 year use! great line!
