I have a Motor Mate on my 150 SHO and love it. Never any problem with it bouncing off. Motor Mate website list Angler Pro Tackle as a distributor but I would call to make sure they have one. Yamaha also requires a special bracket so you may want to ask about that also.
I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed. Conscience never acquits, it either accuses or excuses.

How does it compare to taking stress off the transom when running/bouncing down the road vs. the regular transom saver that uses the trailer as the base?

There are many that believe the old transom savers can cause more harm than good, I have not used one in over 10 years. If the transom can withstand a boat running 50 plus in a two foot chop then I believe the motor toters will be just fine.

I agree, the trailer mounted t-saver transfers road shock from the trailer straight to the lower part of the motor which increases the shock due to leverage. There are some with shocks built into them but they are $$$ and I don't know how effective they are. With the motor mate the motor is tilted up and a lot of the weight is over the transom and doesn't seem to be a problem, as stated above the transom is made to handle that weight plus the force of running across the lake. I lost my trailer mounted t-saver on the road once years ago and bought a motor mate and have had no problems with it.

The version i use seems to work well but it doesn't stop the mental stress every time you hit a big bump and look back there and see some bounce. In my mind i'm thinking the motor will rip the transom in two. Contrary to my perceived concerns it did fine. Again, I went 5k miles with it and it held up well.

Why do you think driving down the road stresses the transom more than running the lake? I think it is funny people worried about the stress on the transom on the road but don't worry about the added weight and stress power poles add to the transom. BTW I haven't used the old style bracket to the trailer in many years and have no transom problems, no hair line cracks in the gel coat either. The one to the trailer bounces more than the other styles. Why do you think they give you a bungie strap to hold it on.
