Is it legal for private parties to put man made brush piles in Corps of Engineer Lakes?

Actually it is legal in some instances. I have applied for and gotten permission at times.

I mean, it would benefit all fishermen right which is your goal isn’t it.

You love to give the coordinates out to Roberts piles yet I’ve never seen you post any from your “home lake”. Isn’t that interesting

This is why good people who like to share there knowledge leave this forum all the time.

There are several private groups that work closely with park & wildlife and the COE to create habitat in our public waters legally.

Way to go Mr.Ernest Paty! It’s really nice to see someone who wants to help others, in these trying times. For most people it’s mostly about Me Me Me! You’re right most people won’t take the time to even put the coordinates into their GPS’s , but it’s still a very nice gesture on your part! And if it helps someone to catch fish, that’s what it’s all about, people helping people! Good Luck Mr. Paty and God’s Speed!

Regs are for the bad guys and not the good guys, or Ernest would be in the slammer. grin

Really, common sense, these regs are in place for a reason. Regulators need laws to stop situations where there are too many brush piles, or those dumping their junk in the lake etc.... Regs are not for those truly helping the habitat.

Thanks Ernest and Guy! You've provided some great information over the last few years.

Couple of thoughts

If you need coordinates to find brush-piles the size of a mobile home, you may want to try another hobby.

Knowing where a brush-pile is, does not mean you'll catch fish there. Spoiler - some skill is still required.

Its usually quicker to place a brush-pile than it is to find a brush-pile someone else built. And you'll usually have a better brush-pile.
