I can't speak to why they didn't call. I was not part of their decision making.

These things are your call. Do what YOU feel is the right thing to do, not what someone else "thinks" you should do.

For those of us that fish Athens all the time it is nice to have the information.
I personally have never had an issue on Athens ,,,,,,, but there is always that first time.

Really don't understand the "wrong choice being illegal" comment.
Rendering aid is not a legality question. Maybe morality but not legality..... I can promise you that



Well rendering aid may be a "choice" but the wrong choice is an illegal one, which is obviously what OP is so adamantly bragging about.
