Beats me... I've never noticed a difference.

Hello, I have narrowed it down to the Lowrance Hook 7 and Garmin Striker 7. I like the idea that for the same $500 Garmin will give you both SI and DI although I like the Lowrance installed mapping capability. I have read people saying that any saved sonar settings they make on the Garmin Striker are lost and have to be made all over again if the head unit is disconnected from the battery. Since my boat sits outside when not in use I usually take off the head unit. For all of you that happen to have this Garmin unit, Please tell me this is not so. I would hate to enter and setup the settings every time I am on the water. Thank You

Got the small WP icon fixed. Nothing more than updating the software to v.5.5.

I had my Hook 7 installed and will be testing it tomorrow. Any tips on what i need to do to it straight out of the box to have it working right? My previous unit a buddy set it all up for me.

Units wont update. I downloaded the update from Lowrance, "I think" made sure it was unzipped, tried to update both the hds 7 touches , neither will update when i put the chip in, then power up the units.Tried another sd card, same result. Boat came with one unit, I just added the other, old one is on version 3 and new one is 4.5 or something, and newest version is 5.x I dont know what to do. Any suggestions?

Moss, delete the cards. Get on YouTube and write down the exact directions given and re-download the sd cards. There's also been times where guys couldn't get certain computer programs to work with the download update.

Just got a new from the factory HDS-9 Gen3 yesterday. Will it have the latest software updates already in it?

Don't count on it, 3.5 is the newest. Make sure you update it if it's not 3.5, there were some glitches with the other update.

It says 3.5 in the ABOUT section on screen.
The only trouble I had today was it would not wake up my LSS1 structure scan. After a few reboots it finally connected. Side scan and down scan was awesomely clear with lots of detail.

I recently purchased a Gen 2 Touch......I notice in the beginning there were lots of issues with the touch screen. Make sure you have good grounds on your Lowrance circuit. Mine all solved and works great.

I'm looking to buy an HDS 9 touch and was wondering if this unit can network with an older LCX 27 I have at the bow?

Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to enable my down imaging on my Lowrance Gen 3 HDS 7?

I have the appropriate transducer and my sonar works fine and all of that, but the down imaging just doesn't come up for whatever reason. I have been told it's because the settings on the system are incorrect. I have also been told that it needs to be set to 83-200-455800. How do I do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Then you need to select the correct view from the structure scan menu. Click on view and select down imaging.

I recently bought an Elite 7 CHIRP, and it came with Lake Insight Pro v15 new in the box. It doesn't seem to be displaying any map information from the SD card. I put it in, screen goes blank for a few seconds, and then nothing changes. I've tried fiddling with the map data source (two options, Lowrance and Navionics. As far as I know it should be Lowrance) but nothing I tried resulted in any changes. All I have is the very basic base maps on the unit, and it's missing lakes like Lavon and Lewisville.

Anyone have this unit with this card and have any success with it? I'm really not sure what to do at this point.
