At 15, I don't think you should be browsing discussion forums. At 17, I don't think you should be trying to tell grown folks how they should behave.

See the irony?

B. Dill.....I was already a solo boater at 15 so the boy isn't out of line using today's information source I don't think.....I'm sure I would have if it existed in 1980 .....

It's a good post young man....but you missed the mark when you described older as 25+..... these days there's little difference between a 17 year old and a 25 year old.... I try to help when I can and I've been chasing those green girls for 40 years now but I mostly learned by doing. I think the information age has done you a disservice in some regards.

Good luck out there, be courteous and safe on the water above all else.

That's a pretty sweet rig for a 17yr. old. Just guessing, but probably an "older man " helped you get it. Not all us "older men" are perfect but neither are all 17 yr. olds. Being generic about any age can get you in trouble. If you had issues with older men get over it. Fishing is and always has been about having fun. Don't waste your time on here venting, most don't want to hear it and the rest don't care. Take that sweet rig you got to the lake, keep learning and be appreciative you're not casting from the bank like a lot of 17 yr. olds. Learn to smile a lot too young man, you'd be surprised how far that will take you. Here's one for you.

At 17 years old I suggest you get out and experience life outside of the public education system, the suburb you have been raised in, and the protective wing of your parents before you attempt to lecture adults.

I understand your intentions, but at our family's holidays you would still have a seat at the kiddie table.

Good luck and tight lines young man

Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite said, I am young and you are old, so I held back from telling you what I think. I thought, Those who are older should speak, for wisdom comes with age. But there is a spirit within people, the breath of the Almighty within them, that makes them intelligent. Sometimes the elders are not wise. Sometimes the aged do not understand justice. So listen to me, and let me tell you what I think. I have waited all this time, listening very carefully to your arguments, listening to you grope for words.

If I acted my age I would have to sit down in front of the TV, get even older faster and then die.
