No room for any kind of stand or case to hold rods (preferably with reels attached). Is there any problem with hanging them by the tip on either a cup hook or an L-hook. And which type of hook would be better? ?
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

Steez you can definitely still the idea buddy Obviously this was very easy to do and very inexpensive. Just some 1x4 and pvc and some plasti dip. The reason I did mine like this is, we were at my cousins house, and all the kids are playing upstairs. I went up there and noticed he had one of those round rod holders that hold ten to fifteen rods sitting up there. With all the crankbait hooks exposed, if one of the kids got pushed into the rack, it would be a serious problem. So I thought I would get mine way the heck out of the way. It literally takes up no real estate, and is pretty handy.

Another option is Southwest Parts and Supply sells the Rod socks with the grommet on the tip. Rods with reel attached do not fall out and can be hung on peg board by this grommet.

Here's a different twist if you have wall space or window in your garage. The big swim tube holds on enough to suspend the rod so you don't need a base. If you were to do against a flat wall, you might have to shave some off the back. Also, you could put the rods closer together if you wanted. I ran a 1/2 piece plastic pipe through it and screwed it to the frame around the window. Super cheap and super easy. Slide the swim tube with a razor to make the rod slits.

I can't imagine having $10k worth of rods and reels on display in my garage window. Recipe for disaster where I live. Lol. Looks nice though. And creative use of otherwise useless space.
