You might want to look into some type of intervention on thisI've tried it several times through the years, but, I'm still addicted & an active user. I'm not saying it won't work for you, it just hasn't worked for me yet. I still wind up buying tackle I don't use enough to warrant the cost of. But, hey, I've still got it!!! All good choices you have listed. Good luck. The best withdrawal therapy I've found is getting away from that computer & occupy yourself with on the water usage...

all those rod companies have great selection of actions and lengths IMO dobyns has the best rod selection on the market for covering every application you can fish.

Just pick and choose, they dont all need to be the same haha For me, it's like trying to pick between different types of oreos. They are all practically the same, but they are so different.

There are so many great rods and none of the mfgs. make every type rod that will fit your needs and budget. Stick with the major brands and find the ones you like, sell or trade the others. My prefferred rods are Kistler, Falcon, Duckett, TFO. I haven't tried Daiwa Tatula's yet but hear good things about them. And I still have an OLD Ugly Stick that has prolly caught more fish than any of my others .....

Dont count out Daiwa. Their 150range rods are comparable to 300+ rods from other companies. Yep... I really like my Tatula and Tatula XT's Daiwa are the Dodge trucks of fishing gear. Drive around any used truck lot and all you see are Dodge, stop in any pawn shop and all you see is Daiwa. IMHO

But I can say Daiwa makes quality gear.

Pretty hard pressed to find many people(reviews, forums, word of mouth) who are unhappy with the Tatula or more expensive lines of products. I don't shop for fishing gear at pawn shops but please feel free to list the name of any pawn shops where all you see is Diawa. If that's the case I may have to stop by and pick some up.

True story....all of my rods were stolen a few days before a tournament back in 2009. I went to Walmart and bought a Berkley Lightning rod, modified the cork handle to make it a split grip, I put a cu-200 Shimano greenie on it and had one of the best tournaments of my life. For a few days I thought to myself that I just got caught up in all of the hype....that a rod is a rod. The fish moved out deep and suspended before next tournament and I couldn't catch a cold. Oh they bit!!....but I couldn't get em in the boat. I, like the rest here, have many high quality rods of different brands. But Shawn Mead's post has never been more true. I have a 7' MH Berkley Lightning Rod that I have probably caught over 1,000 bass on over the years. It has survived several trips to Mexico that were 100+ fish trips. Chalk it up to a confidence thing I guess.

I have owned Falcon, St. Croix, Kistler and most recent Dobyns. I must say that my Dobyns thus far are my favorite. Light great backbone and a joy to fish with.
