I started the morning off fishing for stripers, and had a little luck, but nothing worth getting excited about. After a while I switched to my light spinning gear and tried my luck with the sandies. They were thick below the dam. I probably caught 20-25 in about an hour. I was using a Rooster Tail, but you probably could have thrown anything in the water and caught some fish. I did catch a couple more striper with my light gear, and that was a blast! All in all it was a good day on the water, and not too shabby for a noob when it comes to chasing scaly fish.
Also, one of the guys that had gotten there early had a 19 pound striper he caught. That thing was a hoss!
Thanks, Olen

Did you get to the dam area by parking at camp ground or did you gol from the ramp by going through the fish hatchery ?

I drove up there Saturday seen people from the dam to the bridge with lines crossed and kayaks everywhere and I turned around and left.

I was parked at the camp area. It cleared out around 9 in the morning or so when some search and rescue guys were doing some training. They didn't have an issue with me fishing though. I caught most of my fish later in the day when I waded across to the opposite side and fished the calmer water.
Thanks, Olen

I've been a few times in the last two weeks or so. Every time it's like Denison. There's fish but unless you want crossed lines and fighting for a spot, it ain't worth the climb.

I caught two 14lb striper down by bridge the other night off shad. I've been fishing it for last month since the lake got so muddy but it's seriously overcrowded now.

The more you dudes post, the larger the crowds. If you want 60 Asian's there with the bobber rigs, keep it up. They got family to feed!

What about the 50 white dudes that were in the second pool casting into the same spot the other day? Yea there was like 20 guys all standing in that pool and me and a buddy strolled by in jet boat and dropped live bait in front of them and pulled out two big ones in 15 mins. Most those guys had been fishing there for hours and not caught much that day.

Death by internet. Just like all the other areas of the Brazos we grew up fishing.
