The old bps carbon lite (black rod) after that it would be omen black > veritas> Ive had 2 tfos didn't like them.

People laugh but Berkeley Lightning rods are very good rods for under $50.

Depends on what your fishing.
St croix mojo for bass. +1 Not close IMHO. This is the second generation for this rod series (that I'm aware of) and they got it right on the nose.
