I like Powell rods, personally. Quality is pretty good and the price is reasonably cheap.

I use a 705 for square bills, 755 for heavier line DD22s/DD14s, 7115 for 10-12# test DD22/6XD type baits, and the 795 CF with a larger reel for 10XDs/1oz+ Spinnerbaits, etc.

The 7115 is a touch soft, IMO, for 10Xds, but if you're a coangler and trying to reduce rods it will handle it.

So they told me I had to pay to ship it to them, then if it was considered to be a defect, they would fix it free and I could pay to ship it back. The price was real close to just buying a new one. So I went with the Dobyns 806, (has a lifetime warranty) and it chunks 6 and 10s, phenomenally. Very happy with my choice.

Dont break it. They quit making the magnum cranking rods.

Kistler just announced a sale on their Argon composite rods. Up to 40% off. I bought 4 about 10 days ago and really like them. Click the link in my signature.

The BPS crankin stick is actually not bad at all. I was in your position a little over a year ago. I looked for many different cranking rods. I didn't want to buy a house brand. However, I finally decided to go with the BPS rod and actually, its pretty good. It is a composite rod so you have the nice bend that a glass rod would have and the added sensitivity being that that it is also made with graphite. Definitely a good rod for throwing 6XDs.
