Bought a Champion 734C off TFF from a Dobyns staff member a few months ago and told me if it ever broke I could get a replacement. Was just popping the rod trying to free my senko from some small brush and it completely broke at about the 7th eye from tip. Just checked website and said I must be the original owner and have a receipt. Does anybody know if they will sway any........hate to know I just lost a $160.00.

I would think they would probably stick to their policy of returning a rod.
But it never hurts to call and try to get an exception to the policy

I also bought a Champion Extreme for a TFF'r and love it. Left a message with Dobyns and said I would even be willing to pay more $$ to upgrade. I sure hope they will work with me.

Go see the guys at Fishin World in Dallas. I believe they do the exchange program. And take lots of cash, they have some awesome stuff in there! I can't get out of there without a new bag of goodies!

You will have to cut the part of your rod that has the description of what it is and send to them, I had to do it last year and it's effortless...... I think I had to pay $90 or something like that.

"Dobyns Rods are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner. Please present your sales receipt or proof of purchase when making your warranty claim."
this claim is for defect only. In your case, you pay the replacement fee and mail them the logo section of the rod. If you believe there was a defect, call them and see what they will do for you even though you're not the original owner and do not have a receipt.
