Braid is great for froggin' 65# Power Pro slick 8. It does well getting the fish out of the grass and pad stems. Smooth casting and less noise as traditional braid. The MAXCUATRO might be worth a try, I personally have not used it but 100# test that is about the size of 65#
poppers and zara spook type baits Mono seems to be the best for me, Sunline Super Natural or Seaguar Senshi 20# test.
As long as it gets fish in the boat then its working.

Not trying to hijack but has anyone used the Lucky Craft hollow core mono?

Stren 50lb braid.

Don't use a braid with Gore fibers...it sinks.

Mono unless froggin. Braid and treble hooks can be frustrating.

All the good braids have been mentioned. I've started using Maxima Ultragreen. It's been around forever, and is still said to be and excellent line. I decided to try it for my topwaters and big swimmers, after reading how much those California guys like using heavy test for big BIG swimmers. I enjoyed reading and watching videos on that www.Southernswimbait.com. I think they reviewed Maxima, or maybe it was Tackletour. Talking, forums, blogs, and review sites are great, but I found out I really liked it when I fished with it.

I'm not sure if they've changed the way they make it, since like what 20 years ago? I've had good luck with it so far.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack

I just use some 20lb Stren original for throwing walking or popping baits. For frogs I use 50-65lb Power Pro.

Braid for froggin slop

20lb big game works the best for spooks

The day after catching a lot of fish is still a good day.

You don't need a leader. Tie directly to the top water bait.

I throw buzzbaits ALOT and I use 15lb big game. Rarely ever lose a fish or have issues with this line.

Pline cxx #15 is super strong and performs best for me I was a big time big game user for years the cxx works great for bottom baits and mid depth as well more spendy than big game its slippery and not as soft as other lines a little wirery like maxima good stuff when you get used to casting it I buy 12# for many baits and 15# for top water and heavy cover fishing super strong line comes in clear and green very versitile line.

When in doubt set the hook..Retie often
