What is this barricade everyone is talking about and what is its purpose? It's a floating boom placed across the mouth of Chaney Creek in attempt to contain an invasive, floating aquatic (Giant Salvinia). Similar to the booms you see deployed in oil spills to contain the oil in one area. Drive across the boom and back across it, you just spread more oil to water that wasn't previously contaminated. Same idea with the boom for Giant Salvinia.
