The Minn Kota is not wireless if you use the pedal. Which I use almost 100% of the time.

The reason they don't use it? Because they don't think it gives them a edge or advantage. As long as they have been out you can be certain they have looked into and tried them soon after they came out. There isn't anything they miss. Remember last time they were out of New Orleans and a bunch had radar on their boats? If they thought it was a advantage on even one lake a year you can be sure several wound have it to where they could change them out with a quick mount.

I have never seen one on a Elite Series Boat or a FLW Tour boat.

We fished Sabine with a guy in our group who had one on his new boat. Everyone thought it was cool with the remote deploy and GPS Spot lock. That was until he was spinning circles while we were hammering the trout. We had a solid 3 man 45 fish limit of heavy trout. They had 6. Back at the camp it was, "nice boat if you had a garage sale for the trolling motor." About 6 months later he decided to have that garage sale.

I don't see much advantage to it for Bass fisherman, and that's why I would assume they don't use them. The steering motor is kinda loud, and they are harder to deploy than a Fourtrex unless you get an Ulterra. I have used cable steer, wireless remote, and the drive by wire foot pedal, and the control is much easier with the cable steer, not to mention quieter. I have a MK Riptide ST with I pilot and all the works, and like it very well, but I fish for Stripers where the spot lock really shines. The foot pedal takes a lot of getting used to, I rarely use it, mostly just when throwing the net. The durability of the mount really does not seem to be an issue, even though it is not as robust as some others. I use mine a lot, and on windy days spot locked in 2-3 footers in open water, it has still held up well for me. There are a lot of guides I know that run them every day with no issues. If the steering technology does not improve, I cant see many Bass guys turning to them. JMO..
