I launch at Collin Park.
what set up does everybody use? I don't really understand that question. If you're talking about gear, all that information is in previous posts within this thread

not for fishing but for the filleting part at home..that has to take a lot of time..is there a more efficient system...different knives, different tables or just any way you can get it done since you can't do it at the lake

I just googled the knife and picked the first picture. Not endorsing the site or anything. But this is the set I use at Lake Texoma for Striper and Sandy's. I have cleaned thousands of fish in the last two years with this knife and has not burned up one bit. One of the guides had his in a bucket and I think he took a wave and filled the bucket up with water. The knife still worked. You have to play with the knives and see which one works best for your fish. The bottom knife in the picture is the one I use and like for the Striper and Sandy's. Once you get in the rhythm, it should take you less than 30 seconds to fillet a Sandy and remove the rib bones. After you filet it, put it in a bucket of ice water. Then go to the next fish and repeat. After you're finished and all the filets are very cold, put your thumb in between the fillet and the bloodline and pull apart. Put the filet back in new ice water. Then stick your finger in between the bloodline and meat and pull apart, and the bloodline will be removed easily. This will leave you with bright white filets. By removing the bloodline, it will take out all the fishy flavor that you normally taste. Most fish over 13 to 15 inches all have blood lines that will affect the taste Even Crappie. Where you filet your fish, is your choice. When I come home I just do it on the tailgate of my truck with a piece of wood underneath as a cutting board. I have a bunch of 12' x 12' raised gardens, so I throw all the scraps in there. And I get amazing vegetables!

We stopped at 1138 Sandbass this morning. 20% were under 10 inches. Otherwise they were 15-17 inches. A couple days ago we got 974. It was fantastic. Today we started at 7 am first spot with one 10 inch fish first drop. Wondered around that point for 10 or 15 minutes but nothing was there. Cruised over to Hybrid Point, first drop produced a 16 inch magnum sand bass. Above is what it looked like when they started moving onto the points. After that every drop produced one or two fish. 4 to 6 fish coming over the rail every 15 seconds or less. I cut all my Barb's off the treble hook except for one and I crimp the last hook. Takes nano seconds to get the fish off the hook. It was literally nonstop action from 715 till we left. As I was pulling up the trolling motor home bound, one of the guys landed another 16 inch magnum with an 11 inch kicker. The graph was still completely lit up with 1000's of fish below the boat frantically biting whatever we sent down to them. It is absolutely chaotic. The lake was pretty busy today. I saw two other boats. $100/ person text me for faster response.

I try to catch 1000 fish in a season. You do it in a day. It is a truly amazing fishery. It is always fun to read your report. Keep them coming.

Called my buddy Ken up and told him he needs to hop in my boat in the morning to go play. Took a three minute drive across the lake and Bobby was already posted up putting a show on with a pretty lady in the boat with him. We slipped in quietly and we had a huge opera going within seconds of dropping. Birds were going nuts. Every 3rd to 5th drop was a magnum. Within 45 minutes we had a two-man limit of fish 14 inches to 16 inches. I'll post a picture of a 14 inches and a 10 inch Sand Bass. It was around noon or 1 o'clock by the time we got there. Eastwind started and the fish actually stopped at that location. We just decided to leave and has our fun. Sent down 1-2 oz godfathers and that kept the smaller fish off somewhat. There's just to many fish under the boat to get the slab down sometimes to the bigger ones that are hovering just off the bottom. Once you get your slab on the bottom don't lift it any more than 2 feet.. 12-27 ft. TexasOklahomaFishingGuide.com

Friday Report: Insaine day again. My first charter trip started at 7:15 at Glass House. We landed a couple but it was not every drop like I like. So we took off to the islands and they were thick as can be with birds crashing the surface everywhere like in the ocean. We limited before 8 am with pure Magnum fish. Average was 15 inches plus and these things are starting to build up some shoulders. They are mini freight trains. Every time we land one, I'm like a kid in a candy store they are so huge and fun to catch! Once you land on a magnum school, your world changes. We caught fish till I had to go get my 12 pm charter trip. No hero pic on this one. Second trip at 12 noon. We went on a long 4 min drive from the ramp and landed on a magnum school again. Limited quickly with Mom schooling her son on mags. They stopped after about 2 hours of nonstop action. Went on a longer cruise of 9 min and started catching immediately again. After 3 1/2 hours mom put down the rod and she had enough. Got back to the dock to drop them off and ran into Sea Pro Todd. Ended up seeing lots of Hubbard guys out there the last few days. Been awhile! PlanoKeith, get out here! Third Trip: Picked up a Father and Son. The fish would come in waves but no hot and heavy, but there were still mags there. Made sure SeaProTodd was catching Mags and told him where the hot spots were and went looking. I tried waiting them out a bit, but just couldn't take it and moved. Got to Hybrid Point and it was steady with a fish or a bite every minute, and a couple flurries of 10 fish within a minute or two, but still to slow on my terms. So we took off to my last spot I figured they would be in, and we landed on the mother load. Two fish every drop of mags in 10 ft of water. Dad told his kid he could have 10 for eating but talked him to a couple more for the dinner table but they limited a couple times over, lol. Landed well over 400+ on this trip too. We have limited every trip "so far" in the last three weeks on pure Magnum White Bass. Most trips within 1 hour. They have been feeding all day somewhere on the lake. Just have to hop around till you get on them. Saturday: Started at 645 cause Jimmy was late. Took the long 4 min drive to glass house and picked off a couple but they were just not thick yet. The wind was blowing about 10-12 out of the North and I read it was going to be 13-15 mph. ( or I never would have gone out) I learned I can do 18 mph wind and Ill have to cut it off any higher. So I figured we would got to Hybrid Point before the wind got at 15 or so. We picked off about 20 Mags there, with the small boat show and then the wind picked up to 20-25. I said we better get behind the island and try there before it gets worse. Man there were some huge waves. 4-5 ft rollers. Luckily we were traveling east to west and not directly into the waves. Got there and landed 10-15 pretty quick and steadied out. I saw some birds working just a couple 100 yards west of the cut so we went over there. The waves were even worse by then. We watched as a red bass boat gunned it through the cut and his nose almost straight in the air with the engine coming out 2-3 ft jumping waves. Crazy as heck to watch that. Don't know how they stayed in the boat. (Ken and his buddy tearing them up) On the way back we hit glass house and it was absolutely on fire. The fish moved off the point and into the back of the cove. We got back there and there was not to bad of a wind. Just MAGS! Limited quick and sat back and released Mag after Mag. No shorts in that school for 2 hours. Then the boat ride home was nuts. We rode waves back to the docks. If I would have gunned it, I would have plowed into the wave in front of us and took on water. There would have been no way I could have turned around in that and went into the waves, no way! just crazy. I get home and find out three boats that we know of were getting totaled on the riprap. a 80k brand new skiboat couldn't get the trailer hitch on the bow of the boat in time and the waves knocked him off the trailer and went sideways into the rip rap. waves were so bad the rolled it on its side and destroyed the skibars and wake boards. Not to mention the holes that quickly filled up the boat while being man handeled on the rocks. No pic of that one yet. But this might be the red bass boat I saw acting like a dolphin through the cut. Just a bad deal all around. Who knows how many boats were damaged...... I had my butt puckered while trailering too. Had to time the waves and make it on the trailer between the troughs. above is one of the slabs I use. Just change out the hook and crimp the barb. $100 / Person TexasOklahomaFishingGuide.com Carey A Thorn

----> This might have been the Red Boat we saw acting like a Dolphin going through the cut. Don't know what happened at the ramp. If its to windy wait it out or trailer somewhere else.

Good seeing you playing hard, Carey. Lol. Saw lots of catching and big smiles all around, and quality fish too. Thought you said you were to striper express twok Saturday...It was definitely windy this morning. I wish Lavon has protected ramps. That's one reason i don't fish lavon much. Exactly 9 years ago I struggled to get my boat backto the clear lake ramp cuz we camped there. Strong 25mph+ cross wind. Damaged my trailer. Wish East Fork ramp will back open soon. That's the only protect ramp on Lavon. Guys, Carey is a fish catching machine! This man can catch Now is the time for quality and number on Lavon.
