Just like the commercial says: you can MIO (run) a lot, or you can MIO (run) a little. the Sabine River is a big place. I think the Elites did quite well very close to the launch ramp and also running a long ways away. I like it,,,,i am not a BIG bass catcher, so I like 10-12# bags.

I fish the north, and I'm in. I was hoping for the red again, but enjoy something new at the same time. Tons of water to cover, tidal fishery, it's going to change the game. Not your normal river. (Red)

I wonder if there will be boundaries? Mike Mcclelland was fishing in Houston when the Elites came to Sabine River.

Nice a new adventure looking forward to it still can't belive they let it come out this early in the year . At least that means more time to study . Is it easy to run the river ? And I'm guessing there's back waters as well ?

I understand not everyone will be happy no matter what but this will draw very few from north/central/south I can promise you Just curious what is it that you dislike so much about this location. Looking back at the Red River, I don't expect the weights to be lower at the Sabine than they have there. 2015-13lbs/day won & 7lbs/day got a check 2014-10lbs/day won & 6lbs/day got a check 2013-9lbs/day won & 6lbs/day got a check. From Orange you are less than 15 miles from Delta Downs & right at 30 miles to Lake Charles and 3 more Casinos. So it can't be the nightlife you are mad about. You gotta take into account 2 of those years on the Red there was a 3 fish limit. Last year the whole area got flushed due to flood g so the Red did jot fish at its best. Personally I look for ward to fishing the Sabine.

Don't look for it to fish near the same as the spring when the elites show up. 5 fish a day will be a goal that won't get met by most of the field. Lots of guys will run to taylors seeing as how that area has won the elites but it completely changes once it gets hot. I also predict lots of tore up boats and a few stuck unless we keep getting rain and the water is high.

After talking with several friends who fish this water a lot, by all accounts it's small fish and hell on a boat. My boat took an absolute BEATING on the red river the last few years and I know I'm not the only one. I understand the financial end of running a business and obviously orange is putting up more money than say texoma for example. That being said anyone who fished TTT on Texoma this past month realizes it is fishing AMAZING right now and would have been a total BLAST this fall. 20lb bags or LMB or Smallmouth on the same lake is just plain awesome. Oh well I'm sure some folks will enjoy this choice. My and my boat will not be there lol

I am not faulting anyone for not wanting to fish the Sabine. Nothing wrong with choosing not to and I respect your reasons for passing on it. I don't know what to expect but I am gonna look forward to it all. I honestly thought Texoma would get the nod.

With the 12 inch limit all teams should have a limit. The fishing is generally better in the fall.

The number of boats torn up should not be many. As long as you run in the main bayous and river you are safe. Don't run wide open in water that is 2ft deep and you wont hit anything. I have never damaged a boat on the sabine or been in a boat that was damaged.

If you need any help with area info or tackle Simon Outfitters is a local tackle shop and he will get you headed in the right direction. Very nice and knowledgeable guy.
