I had a chance to fish with Double Dee and co-worker Kevin yesterday morning on Lavon. the wind was terrible but David put on some great fish for over 3 hours. Moe's slabs and flies tied above were the trick all morning long. We boated over 150 fish and kept a cooler full. It was a great day of fishing. Thanks David for the ride and the catching.

Hi Gene, It was a blast catching huge fish with you and Kevin. For those in the know, Carey is the man to book a trip with on Lavon if you want to catch big fish consistently as he has them dialed in and knows where they will be a certain times of the day. It will be the best money you ever spent.

was that at Collin park ramp? It was at Clear Lake. Those guys launched when we did and apparently they left the boat. Almost drove out there yesterday to see if they had gotten it out. The waves were breaking across the ramp. We had to pull around into the cove to the south and pull out on the bank. Of course we got stuck but we had someone there to help pull us out. Coming through the cut the swells were pushing 4 ft. I grew up fishing the coast in Louisiana and never had to fight through waves like that.

Thank you Kdub#1. I saved that link.
I'm hoping to get a chance to go to Lavon this weekend. I was hoping to find a protected ramp on the east side off 78. Looks like Mallard or Little Ridge will be the place to launch.

I guarantee you those things are still going. I literally had to take a day off to rest my fingers. I can barely bend my fingers on my right hand for cuts and pokes. With that said I actually have tomorrow morning open as I will not be goin I literally had to take a day off to rest my fingers. I can barely bend my fingers on my right hand for cuts and pokes. With that said I actually have tomorrow morning open as I had a cancellation. It might rain but if someone is willing to dodge the rain here in there till we have our fun let's do it. I will guarantee a limit.

I was there last weekend (Sunday) and haven't had time to make a real report. But we put over 200 fish (conservative estimate!!!) in the boat in 3 hours off Hybrid Point - 20-28 FOW, slabs + grubs deep in the column and off the bottom. 37 of those fish were 14"+ fish that went in the cooler.
We found actually around the edges of where the birds were working was the best to pick up big fish, on the downslope off points is where most of them were.
I can feel TFly's pain - both me and my buddy had blisters on our fingers from reeling em in. Was my first trip of the year and a great one!

Hybrid Point: They hang out on both sides. If you catch them in the AM or PM when the whole school moves up on this point, it can be absolute chaos. This is a great place to anchor up if you don't have a trolling motor, and wait for the waves of fish to come through. Anchor in 15 foot of water and yall should be able to have fun (sometimes they don't push up on the flat). Otherwise use you're trolling motor and go up and down the slopes all the way from 5 to 30 foot till you figure out where the Best Bite is. They will move back-and-forth shallow and deep throughout the day feeding.
