Does anyone know where the gators have been spotted on Grapevine? (I'm not going to try to catch one and pretend that I'm Steve Irwin) I'm just curious because my wife & I have anchored our boat & have swam all over that lake in the summer. (just don't want to go swimming where the gators have been spotted)

You want to see some gators, come down south to Choke Canyon. Cant remem the last time i didn't see one or 5 for that matter. We have been stalked by a gator for over 200 yrds befor. Have had a nother raise up arching its back and tail and let out the awesomest bellow i have ever heard. Clearly it was his territory. Have seen some hugr gators, up to 17 feet i would geuss. Almost as long as our boat. Makes the 10 ft gators look like nothing.

I live on the upper end of Lake Whitney, I was fishing way up in the Nolan River & saw several signs of gators there. One of my son in laws works for a company that the Nolan runs through their plant & he has seen several, one looks to be over 6 feet long & some other smaller ones are there too!
Keep your powder dry & don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!!

I know where one hangs out on Lake Worth, I saw it a few times last year in the same area.

i don't think it's likely that i will come across one, i'm just curious to know what to do IF i come across one.
at 40mph top-speed, do they chase after 'fleeing prey'?

Yes they do chase but only after they think they are in an ambush position. Do not need to be overly concerned but it is wise to be aware in warmer temperatures.

I have a friend that lives on lake worth and his neighbor is always telling us about how he sees the gators. He even said that it was in his yard one morning. It makes me think twice about swimming in that lake.

When I lived in Arkansas, I used to fish a big pond. (Bank fishing) Someone told me that it had an alligator in it. I talked to the guy leasing the land and he told me that that particular pond did not, but the other one on his property did. After that, every little splash or ripple next to the bank just scared the #$%& out of me. I guess it made fishing a lot more exciting.

Had a fishing buddy went up Marshall Creek Tuesday in his 8ft bass buster at deep Catfishing hole about 1/2 mile up the creek and saw one laying on the bank, said it was as long as his boat.

I cant belive there is one in Nolan Creek. I fish that area in a small kayak and there is hardly any place to run if one comes out. I need to go fishing more often because I have never seen one except on Caddo last year. And that lake is a given for gators. And she was a big'un...
