The movement of the cover will scratch the cowling as well; finally just took my cover off. Then you got a bad cover bud.. If it has buckles or straps it will do that. An OCA will not scratch your cowling. Ive had an OCA cover on 5 motors over the last 13yrs and have never had an issue.

Is there a benefit to having a motor cover? Keeps you from scratching the cowling Looks cool,.. Also keeps dirt dobbers out. They can cost you a power head in a quick.

Scratches from the Tuff-Skinz are not from the buckles or snaps but are around the vent areas from movement from the wind.

The OCA covers are expensive, but they absolutely fit and look better than a Tuff-Skin, and they don't wiggle around going down the lake or on the road. The inside is covered with a soft felt lining as well. It has already spared my cowling from certain gouging from getting blown into some trees on more than one occasion. I'm not compensated by OCA, I paid full price.

It's an OCA. The fit at the bottom where the cover hugs the bottom lip of the cowling is the major difference from other brands I looked at.

Yeh it could have been pulled down a bit more snug than I had it; that photo was taken the day after I installed it from being folded up in its packaging. It is smoother now that it has warmed up.
