I know Jeff Kriet lost his spot in the last Summit Cup event. I would guess that he would have to go through the selects to get back in. I guess that would be a type of re-qualifying. Never really thought about the selection process. Some are no brainers(KVD) but others are mind boggling(Quinn). Not that he can't fish but has never come close in this format. I would also have to think that some anglers may have been invited and scheduling conflicts kept them from participating.

I don't think they get paid per event, I believe they get a share of the merchandise and sponsorship cash. All that is unclear, like WHO gets in, Ducket owns the MLF last I heard... I don't remember how I even know these possible facts... I think they should go to Big Sam or Toledo Bend.. Now were talk'n

First let me say I am not a very good fisherman. I love the sport but have never seemed to be consistent at it. I have fished and will fish tournaments but realize I am a donor to the winners. When I am on them so is everyone else and I always come up short.

Now after watching them on new lakes that fish tough I have been able to see some of my weaknesses and plan on improving my skills in those areas. Watching them struggle and me learning something from it makes for a better show for me. So my vote is to keep it like it is and let me learn a few things every now and then instead of watching a slugfest every show.

I suspect that the Quinns of the pro fishing world get in so that the KVDs of the pro fishing world have a better shot at winning the overall competition. I know I am skeptical as I have seen too many things in my 56 years that point to there being politics involved in most things in life.

and neither lake showed out very well. although AJ i think it was caught a bunch of fish on that shallow point by the mountain bike trail.

I bet sponsor contacts have kept several angers in or allowed them in.

I agree that Quinn seems to be a questionable selection...but i guess you forgot he crushed them w the a rig on one episode...

Also, based on a conversation with one of the Elite/Cup anglers...$$$$ plays a factor. I was told that one select angler bought his way onto the show....

We were in the middle of the drought. However, KVD killed them on an A-Rig in the cut by the dam on Roberts. Numbers were higher on the rocks, but he pulled an at the time MLF record 8+ to win the round!

Quinn is a Duckett staff guy. Along with Jordon, Horton, Klein, Rojas, Velvick, Ponds. Boyd is going to find every way possible to promote his product as often as he can. Max exposure.

Klein is not on the Pro Staff. He is, however, one of the founders of MLF and its format.
