PT, if you want to drive the 90-100 miles, come to Lake Palestine and either hook up with Jason Burton (his info is linked in my signature) or Clay Epperson (903-681-6044 or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/clay.epperson.3?fref=ts ). Both are great guys and know their stuff when it comes to crappie on Palestine!

I have no idea about these people, but based on the posts they made. i'll go with the following if i hire a guide. Tommy seems to be really down to earth.

1. Tommy Ezell
2. waco kid

I would not use big crappie as a guide. I've read review after review about this guy being a complete ahole to other fisherman on the water. Fishing is more than catching fish, there's etiquette involved as well and it sounds like this service has none of it. Look on Facebook... here is an example of what he does.

"If anyone has or thought about going on cedar creek for crappie I would not recommend big crappie guide service the owner of the company has a much bigger boat than mine and I was fishing a dock and he came by at a pretty good speed and waked my boat so bad my clients had to jump on the dock to keep my boat from sinking and when I got the water out and went to confront him about it (with his 4 clients on the boat) he told me to "go [censored] myself and buy a bigger boat small boats don't belong on the main lake" shows how professional he really is"

My 2 cents on this is simple...
Only take advice from people who have actually been on a trip with these guides. NOT from the ones who have "heard" this or seen "that" regarding a guide, which is second hand info at best.
PM folks to get the most honest input.
I would assume all the guys mentioned can catch fish and put you on them, or they wouldn't be a guide in the first place. If your trip is in May or June, you'll have success no matter who you use.
My 2cents

J_Howell, you need to do your fact checking before you re-post something you saw off of Facebook. There are several holes in Seth Green's story, and after talking to both Chuck, and the clients he fished with, Seth Green's story just isn't adding up. The original post was also taken down off of Facebook, so Mr. Green doesn't seem to confident in standing up in the mess he stepped in.

I worked directly under Chuck for over five years, and although we butted heads at times, he doesn't conduct business in a poor manner. I would also like to warn you that if you're spreading libel to hurt Chuck's business, you can and will have a lawsuit filed on you.

I work for him so I have a bias, but Carey thorn is a class act and will put you on fish.

I just wish I was on palestine at times. I've got no problem giving credit where credit is do. Palestine has it all timber, piles and docks to shoot. I also hear and see great reports from Jason.

Mark Standridge is just getting into guiding but is a crappie slaying dude. I haven't heard where he's guiding yet but he's one angler I'd sure like to hit the lake with. There are lots of good guides it just depends on which ones fit your trip expectations.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. From what I have heard I would have to disagree with a class act and I would not waste my money one his guide services.

In my world or any part of the world, this is an example of class act. good ones don't have to scream they are good, cuz it shows one way or another in different form without strong advertisement.

Murvaul is now on my fish list. I saw that Mark will be doing a seminar over there soon. I may just drive over then to listen to pick up some tips and show him support. Then do a little scouting. He's a good Ole boy.
