Cleaned up ready to cut the door

Cut the top and a portion of the sides so we could add the strap and hinges

Moved on to the sides and let them cool completely

Cut the bottom except for the ends and let them cool

Got the flat strap on the sides and the handles on

This thing has a LOT of cooking chamber

The lid deflected about 3/16"-1/4" on the bottom despite letting it all cool down before finishing the cut. It will be clamped down and gasketed so it will be fine.

Tracks for the removable reverse flow plates is in

I added some handles to the plates for him, there will also be a drop in charcoal basket that hangs from the same angle iron.

Forgot to show y'all the firebox grate. That's 1" expanded metal about 1/4" thick, it won't be bowing any time soon!

Smokestack ready to go on, this was the only option we had to do it with the open top firebox but I think it's gonna look pretty good.

looking good Ramball. I bet even ol' red nosed Kevin would be proud to burn a steak and a brisket on it.

There's a guy in the classifieds looking to buy a smoker if you're going to sell it.

Got the front shelf finished up. It needed to fold down for storage, so I rigged it up with angle iron to catch the gussets. It holds pretty well

Also got the bottom shelf finished up

Adding the shelf exposed the face that the flat strap on the door is a little crooked. I'm gonna trim it up to make it right.

What a beauty! Some of the nicest welding I've ever seen on a BBQ pit.

That was a great adventure seeing ya'lls work through the process.
I am not a metal working, but I am sure I am safe in saying you guys are as good as anyone could ask for.
