It's a 2003 model with three carbs on it does it have a fuel injector?

No injectors in a carbed motor. I think Tommy put you in the right direction.

You have been given all of the possibilities and probably all of the possible causes. You can what if it till the cows come home, but the bottom line is there is a mechanical problem and if you don't get it to a knowledgeable mechanic pretty soon, you need to put a repower in your budget. You are going to end up buying a motor.
