In my experience water body records for a lake take in an area both above and below the lake. For example Livingston records extend way up the Trinity river to Lock and dam and go well below the dam on the river.

Let us know how it turns out.

I was told by the people at Lake Somerville Marina that the area was considered Yegua Creek. I received all 3 certificates and it was confirmed as Yegua Creek. Updates to the website should occur the first week in April, as normal.

Excellent. Looks like maybe they (TP&W) have changed how they define water body. I also recently was awarded a water body record for a Sabine river white and expected it to be listed for Toledo Bend....but it was listed as Sabine River.

Congrats!

I was fly fishing with my 4 weight in the spillway this evening. I broke my Yegua Creek fly record for small mouth buffalo using the same grey and white bead chain clouser pattern.

The fish was 29.25 inches long and weighed 14.1 lbs.

Thanks Fitz, Linecaster and Fish Chaser.

The buffalo get thick below the dam. They will be jumping out of the water chasing shad like bass sometimes. They were feeding shallow. I was slowly stripping the clouser over a shallow sand bar and caught this one. He made 3 runs on me before I got him up onto the bank. I had to sit on top of him to keep him from getting back in the water and taking my fly, LOL!!!

I continue to try different color patterns and flies but this grey and white clouser just continues to produce best for me in the creeks. I also caught 8 crappie and 14 white bass that day.
