Not sure right now--I hear the lake area is really slammed right now and there aren't a lot of places to stay. You might look for something in Winnsboro or Suphur Springs.

Yeah, well Craig is a different breed altogether. That guy can catch fish when its slow and the other guy in the boat ain't catching squat.

Ask me how I know.

Quick question to be sure, if you have two people on a boat that are both registered then you can weigh two fish (one from each angler as long as they caught it)? Correct?

Yes. Best way to do it is to have tourney tags for each fish to make sure you weigh the correct ones.
Don't forget to keep your fish that weigh close to 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, & 1.75 That way, if you don't catch a big fish, you have a shot a one of those other prizes. Just decide before you get in the weigh-in line. You can only take ONE fish per person entered into the line.

From the Crappie Fest Rules:

e. This is no limit on the number of participants in a boat (please follow the boat manufacturers load restrictions).

b. Not more than 1 Legal Crappie that is caught and landed by a Participant on permissible Fishing Tackle, Bait or Lures may be weighed-in and the total weight of the Legal Crappie will determine the order of finish. PARTICIPANTS MAY NOT SHARE FISH. You may only weigh in a fish that you caught.

Here is the link to all the rules:

Actually, CAT simplified the Rules a bit for the Crappiefest tournament only. You can only weigh one fish, but you can bring more than one fish to the weigh-in and decide at the last minute which fish you want to weigh. You just need to make sure that any fish you bring to the weigh-in line is alive and is a "legal crappie"--and make sure that the fish you weigh in is one that you caught yourself--this will likely be one of the questions on the polygraph smile

Jaydon, I wish y'all had a "lightest fish" award. I'd win that prize every year. I caught a crappie a couple weeks ago that was exactly 10" and weighed it just for grins. .39lbs.

Just tossing an idea out there for those of us who've lost the touch.

That is a lot less than I would have imagined.

I am pretty sure there will be a mess of us registering at the lake. I wasn't even sure until yesterday that I would get to go at all.

Don't let the preregistration numbers fool you. We had around 40 preregister last year and we wound up with 134 total entries. If the weather holds (which it looks like its going to) the turnout ought to be great!

The norther is going to blow out by Friday afternoon. Chance of rain drops below 10% by Thur morning and light winds for Sat. morning. A little cool but the fish will be there. Should be plenty of 2+ pounders brought in. Spawn is going on strong right now.

There will be plenty of fish caught, just have to decide if you want to weigh your biggun or get close to the .25# prize clap

One thing that has not been mentioned is this: closest to weight (WITHOUT GOING OVER).

On the 1.00,1.25,150, and 1.75 pound fish category.

So, the way I understand that is if you have a 1.01 pound fish, you would be in the 1.25 pound category since you went OVER 1 pound.

Do I have this right Ken?

This is what it says in the flyer.(WITHOUT GOING OVER).

I'm always in a good mood when I'm fishing.
