Thanks MAK747, I had checked my transducers with his measurements and discussed in a PM, but I didn't want to trust memory on the transducer model # you have now provided. You're right, the 50/200 is almost double the size.

I have seen several images taken while using the 3D module and if nothing else the SideScan range/clarity when using the 3D module/transducer seems much improved over the LSS-1/2

Does anyone have wire diagram to hook up 3 HDS units? I am putting one on the bow, and 2 on the console. Also, does the gen3 need to have the 3D structure scan box with the 3D transducer

3D is an option. If you don't intend to have it, it's not required! If you intend to have 3D, then you need the 3D bundle, which is a 3D SS box with transducer.
How you should connect the system components depends somewhat on how you intend to use it. Do you intend to view the 3D data at the bow unit? If not, then the 3D SS box doesn't have to be powered on when you are fishing at the bow. If yes, then how I'd connect it is different.
You'll need at least 3 Ethernet cables. I'd use the bow unit's built in Ethernet switch, so two 15' cables connect there. One goes to each of the two HDS units at the console. With these 2 cables, all three units can communicate. Another Ethernet cable would be used to connect the 3D SS box to the primary unit at the console normally used to view 3D data. This ties the SS Box to the network so that all units have access to it. So, the primary HDS at the console has 2 Ethernet cables while the other console unit needs only one. Even so, there's no communication path not possible with this configuration - using only 3 Ethernet cables, typically 2 15' and 1 6' cable.
If you generally intend to only view 3D data at the console when graphing at idle, then the yellow wire from the primary unit would connect to the yellow wire of the 3D SS box. This would insure that the 3D SS box is only using power when that primary console unit is on. If you intend to view 3D data from the bow also, then the yellow wire from that unit should also connect to the yellow wires for 3D SS bxo and primary HDS unit. What's going on with the yellow wire: Any connected HDS unit tells the SS box to turn on via the yellow wire. If two HDS units are connected to the yellow wire, either one of them being on will cause the SS Box to be on also, etc.

I just wanted to personally say thank you to Flippin-Out. He spent the time discussing with me and walking me through my install in an educated manner. I truly appreciate the time.

I was fishing Rayburn today, my down imaging, side imaging and sonar stopped working . I have the hds9 gen 2, everything else worked on the unit but si,di and sonar. I checked connections, di screen was just a blue screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated

If it is not getting enough volts/amps it can cause some weird things to happen. Can you describe what you were seeing on your 2D sonar. I have heard that if the 2D transducer goes out it can cause issues with the StructureScan. Something about the StructureScan using the depth information from the 2D transducer. The next thing you can try is a soft and then hard reset. Make sure that you back up your waypoints, routes, trails and settings prior to performing the resets. The soft reset is not supposed to mess with them but the hard will delete everything.

Last year I bought a 2014 Skeeter 22i that came with a HDS8 in the console and HDS5 at the bow - non touch units. They are networked through a structurescan HD module with the skimmer transducer on the transom and a through hull sonar transducer (assumed since there is not another on the transom). I want to add 2 HDS 12 units, one at the bow and the other at the console. I'm thinking about a HDS 12 gen 2 touch at the console to save some $, networked into the 3rd ethernet port on the structurescan module. I would put a HDS 12 gen 3 touch unit at the bow with a troll motor mounted transducer(s?) to work independently. I would use the existing HDS 5 for map view with shared waypoints, and the HDS 12 gen3 for a split downscan/sonar for offshore fishing. Does this sound like the best way to go? I am not sure about the troll motor mounted transducer for the HDS 12 gen 3 unit - can a totalscan skimmer be mounted on the troll motor or is there another option?
Any help appreciated!

I just bought a HDS7 Gen 2 Touch. Am using 2d ducer but haven't bought the LSS-2 yet.
Question on mounting the LSS-2.
2D transducer is in hull. I like this. Out of the way. Have been reading on mounting the LSS-2 and it seems that SS imaging is best at low speeds. My main use will be with trolling motor and trolling speeds. I was thinking of mounting it to the transom to the starboard side of motor about 1.5-2 ft, and HIGHER then the bottom of the hull. That way it will never strike the bottom on beaching, etc. And since it is best a lower speeds, the boat will be settled in the water and the LSS-2 should be in the water at slow speeds.
Thoughts? Thank you.

Thoughts? Thank you. Bad idea, it needs a clear view of the right & left sides. Has to be low to work like it's supposed to.
