I don't know how in the world you can rip a trap out of grass with a 7ft moderate tip rod, using 12 pound line. I would never be able to get that set up to work at Fork. I use a heavier action rod and 15 P-Line CXX and still have trouble "ripping" the trap free of grass. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I use a 7-1 gear ratio reel with a 7ft Powell Max 3D, 5 power rod.
